1. What do you know about USA?
The USA is a federation of 50 states. It neighboours on Canada in the north and on Mexico in the south. The US are so large that there are four time zones.
2. What do you know about Alaska?
Alaska is the largest American state. It is situated west of Canada. In the late 19th century, the Gold Rush brought many gold seekers to the area.
3. What do you know about the mountains in the USA?
In particular, the West is quite mountains – the mountain ranges include Sierra Nevada, the Cascade Range and the Cordilleras. In the middle of it, there are the Interier Plains that make up two thirds of the country. The east contains plateaus or lowlands such as the Missisipi Lowland. The highest peak is Mt. McKinley.
4. What do you know about the revers and lakes in the USA?
The longest river is Mississippi called „the fater of water“. It´s tributaries are the Missouri, the Ohio and the Arkansas. The Great lakes arre situated on the bordur with Canada. There are five of them altogether – Superior is 2nd largest in the world after the Caspian Sea, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
5. What is the climate like?
In the north, the climate is mild. The southern part of the US lies in the Subtropical zone. Florida, the Gulf of Mexico and the Hawaii are located in the tropical zoe. Alaska is naturally the coldest area as it lies in the arctic zone.

Death Halley Desert – the name stands for its severe climate, is covered with sand and sand dunes, is the hottest and driest place in the USA. Other well-known national parks include: Yellowstone, Grand Canon, Yosemite, Sequoia and Everglades
7. What is the population in the USA?
80 per cent living in towns and cities. The country is the 3rd most populous in the world behind China and India.
8. What nicknames do the States have?
Sometimes called a great „meeting pot“ but „salad bowl“ is said to be more precise as each nationality keeps its colour and particularity.

Official language of the US is English. Numer of people speak Spanish.
